Will Burning-Tree Emissary see a boost in play, or is it a fad that’s over?
Brad Nelson It’ll continue to see about the same amount of play as it does now. Players have seen how fast the format can be and they’ve adapted. It won’t see a resurgence in the amount of play unless Esper Control starts to take over. Shaheen Soorani That’s tough. I think it’ll see a boost because of the popularity on MTGO, which usually forces its way into the real world. Todd Anderson That card is always tha nuuuut! BYAH! Brian Braun-Duin It’s definitely not a fad, and it’s definitely not over. But I don’t think it’ll see a boost in play over what we’ve seen already. Jarvis Yu It’s a card that’s very similar to Frogmite so it’ll see a lot of play in both Standard and Modern. I don’t think it’s going to go away. David McDarby I think it’ll still be a part of the metagame. It leads to very fun very nut draws. Jesse Snyder I think it’s going to see play, like 50% of the metagame could play it. Naya Blita, Jund Aggro, Human Reanimator, and the deck I top 8ed at SCGNJ can all run it. It’s still real good. Richard Nguyen Hard to tell. The prospect of pumping out a ton of dudes is always appealing. It really depends on the metagame. If there’s a lot of Control, then early aggression is desirable. |
