Quick Question: Where has all the Tribal gone?
Where has all the Tribal gone?
![]() Brad Nelson Punishing Jund annihilated all the creature matchups, making this a combo format right now. We’ll see the Tribal decks start to trickle in in the coming months. ![]() Shaheen Soorani I don’t think Tribal is very good to begin with. It’s worse than the combo decks and the control decks manning Jace, the Mind Sculptor. ![]() Todd Anderson Tribal decks are traditionally bad against Combo. ![]() Brian Braun-Duin Engineered Plague saw a big rise in sideboard play, but it’s good to note that Elves has put up some solid finishes in recent weeks. ![]() Jarvis Yu The Tribal decks are sort of draw dependent, and I think that the dominance of the Miracles decks has pushed them out. Specifically, Merfolk has a lot of trouble now that Supreme Verdict and Terminus are around and forced them out of the metagame. ![]() David McDarby Combo is happening, that’s what’s happening! Do you want me to Tell you… or Show you? ![]() Jesse Snyder I don’t know! I’d like to see more Tribal. I started getting into Magic seriously around Onslaught, so Tribal is in my blood. I’d like to see more Tribal decks. ![]() Richard Nguyen I think they were just outclassed. Max Tietze won an Invitational with Goblins once, but it’s so draw dependent. The Miracle deck has Terminus and Counter-Top. It couldn’t stay on top. |
