The Big Magic Open sponsored by StarCityGames.com will be held May 10-11, 2014 in Yokohama, Japan. A partnership between StarCityGames.com and Japanese tournament organizer Big Magic, the Big Magic Open is the first SCG-sponsored Open-level event outside North America.

The two main tournaments of the Big Magic Open, Saturday Legacy on May 10 and Sunday Standard on May 11, will award the same number of Open Points as a North American Open. Both tournaments have prize pools of one million (1,000,000) yen paid out to 64th place and the Top 8 finishers in each will receive invitations to one of the following four StarCityGames.com Invitationals.

Two major side events complement the Big Magic Open’s Legacy and Standard offerings. On Saturday, a Sealed Deck Pro Tour Qualifier with Booster Draft Top 8 will qualify the winner for Pro Tour Magic 2015. On Sunday, a Modern-format Elite Invitational Qualifier will grant four invitations to a StarCityGames.com Invitational with the winner also receiving airfare to the chosen Invitational.
