Wizards of the Coast announced that Pro Tour Qualifiers will return to Magic Online with a new two-stage format, beginning March 12.

Each Magic Online PTQ will begin with ten preliminary events capped at 128 players and lasting five rounds. Participants attaining a 4-1 or better record will receive an invitation to the PTQ Finals. Each PTQ Finals will be capped at 256 players and proceed as a regular Swiss event with a cut to the Top 8 and the winner receiving the Pro Tour invitation.

The return of Magic Online PTQs is one of several changes announced for the service, including continuous monitoring of events and new system tools to make tournaments run more smoothly.
