Day 2 Metagame Breakdown
All players with 19 points made Day 2, meaning 69 players would return to battle for a shot at the Top 8 of the Legacy Open at #SCGNY. Another Legacy tournament, another event dominated by Grixis Delver and Miracles. Both decks that have been mainstays for the format for years pace the field at nine copies each. In third, however, is the latest configuration of the optimal Dark+Depths deck – Golgari Depths. While Lands is still represented, most 20/20 enthusiasts have preferred the more proactive build of the deck with seven players sleeving up Golgari Depths.
Azorius Delver is up next with five copies, highlighting the more midrange build of Delver that also utilizes a Stoneforge+Mystic package. Mono-Red Prison, Izzet Delver, and Azorius Stoneblade all had three pilots while eight decks clocked in with two copies: Grixis Phoenix, Grixis Control, Maverick, Storm, Dimir Death’s Shadow, Storm, Lands, and Goblins.
