Day 2 Metagame Breakdown
All players with 18 points made Day 2, meaning 143 players would return to battle for a shot at the Top 8 of the Modern Open at #SCGBALT. Bant Spirits has taken the title of most-played deck here in Baltimore, passing Humans and many other decks. At 14 copies, Spirits edged out Mono-Green Tron by one, while Ironworks rounded out the decks in double digits, slotting in with 11 pilots.
Humans, Infect, and Hardened+Scales all clocked in with nine copies, followed by Izzet Phoenix, the latest breakout deck, with eight players harnessing the power of Arclight+Phoenix in Modern. Usual suspects like Burn, Jund, and Jeskai Control rounded filled out the middle of the metagame as Grixis Shadow, Hollow+One, and Dredge all had four pilots.
Rogue decks that showed up include: Slivers, Allies, Titan Breach, Grixis Whir, Jeskai Saheeli, and two copies of Mono-White Martyr.
