Day 2 Metagame Breakdown
All players with 18 points made Day 2, meaning 107 players would return to battle for a shot at the Top 8 of the Legacy Open at #SCGBALT. The Legacy metagame has solidified following the bans of Deathrite+Shaman and Gitaxian+Probe, and the top decks come as no surprise. Dimir Shadow and Grixis Control share the top spot with 14 pilots each on Day 2, leaving Miracles and Death and Taxes as the third and fourth-most played deck on the second day of competition.
After the top four, the rest of the meta shakes at with a bunch of decks with a handful of copies. Six players on Infect made Day 2, followed by Eldrazi Post with five. Colorless Eldrazi, Sneak and Show, Grixis Delver, and Four-Color Loam all clocked in with four copies. Goblins had three pilots championing the strategy from years ago. Azorius Stoneblade of various builds made up the other deck at three copies.
Rounding things out, the final 29 decks all showed up in either one or two copies. Some surprises at two were Dredge, Grixis Reanimator, and Nic Fit. Notable one-ofs include: Mono-Blue Painter, Jeskai Helm, Mono-Red Prison, and Storm.
