Day 2 Metagame Breakdown
All players with 21 points made Day 2, meaning 83 players would return to battle for a shot at the Top 8 of the Modern Open at #SCGINDY. With the inclusion of Militia+Bugler from Core Set 2019, Humans is back in a big way. The popular tribal deck is back at the top of the metagame, taking 13 of the 83 Day-2 slots. Mono-Green Tron jumped to the No. 2 spot, with seven players looking to take advantage of the powerful big-mana deck.
Burn, a surprising third-most popular deck, showed up with five copies, leading Jund and B/R Hollow+One, with four players each on Day 2. Ironworks and Elves clocked in next with three copies – a rise for both decks. As usual, the Modern meta gets pretty diverse at decks with two or one copy on Day 2. Bant Spirits and U/W Spirits are the notable builds at two copies, while interesting one-ofs include: B/R Vengevine, Jeskai Saheeli, and Temur Moon.
