Day 2 Metagame Breakdown
All teams with 21 points or more made Day 2, meaning 26 teams would return to battle for a shot at the Top 8 of the Team Constructed Open at #SCGCIN. Grixis is the name of the game for two of the formats on display here this weekend, with 14 of the 26 Day-2 teams sporting at least one deck supporting blue, black, and red.
Legacy is still dominated by Grixis Delver as nine teams employed a Grixis Delver player, leading Miracles and Sneak and Show at three copies each. In Standard, The+Scarab+God continued to rule the format as 16 of the 26 teams played a deck utilizing the incredibly-difficult-to-answer threat. Grixis Energy led with eight copies, followed by U/B Control at six, Sultai Constrictor at three, and U/B Midrange at two. No other deck slotted multiple copies on Day 2.
Modern, on the other hand, continues to be the most diverse format. Jund, with four copies, is the most-played deck on Day 2, leading Scapeshift at three, Storm, Humans, Hollow+One, and Blue Moon at two copies each. Modern is the biggest format with a mess of one-of strategies, including decks like Ironworks Combo, Amulet Titan, and W/B Eldrazi Taxes. Check out each format’s Day 2 metagame breakdown below.
