Day 2 Metagame Breakdown
All players with 19 points made Day 2, meaning 71 players would return to battle for a shot at the Top 8 of the Legacy Open at #SCGWOR. Grixis Delver continues to lead the field, taking up 18 of the 71 Day-2 slots as the most played deck by far. Decks built around Deathrite+Shaman took up 33 of the decks on Day 2, with most of them using the one-mana creature as a four-of, not including decks like Punishing Abzan that use it as a one-of tutor target with Green Sun’s Zenith.
Miracles, the U/W control deck that has adapted from the banning of Sensei’s Divining Top, came in as the second-most played deck on Day 2, now using Search+for+Azcanta as its long-term card advantage engine. Four-Color Control, Sultai Delver, and Storm all had four pilots each, all decks being options players looking for an edge against Grixis Delver chose. At three copies, Elves, Death and Taxes, and Sneak and Show showed up with a smaller representation than expected.
Decks showing up at two copies include: Burn, Lands, B/R Reanimator, Abzan Maverick, and U/R Delver. Rogue decks with one pilot in Day 2 include: Aluren, Food+Chain, Soldiers, Grixis Tezzeret, and Reanimator Depths.
