Day 2 Metagame Breakdown
All teams with 21 points or more made Day 2, meaning 25 teams would return to battle for a shot at the Top 8 of the Team Constructed Open at #SCGPHILLY. The second week of Standard with Rivals of Ixalan continues to be diverse with 16 archetypes of the 25 Standard players on Day 2. Grixis Energy took over the top spot at six copies, followed by Mardu Vehicles at four, and G/B Constrictor at two, respectively. From there it’s a bunch of decks at just one copy, ranging from Merfolk, G/R Dinosaurs, R/W Aggro, U/W Auras, and various control strategies.
Modern remains consistent with Grixis Shadow, Burn, Affinity, and Jeskai Control leading the way at three copies each. At two copies, Humans and B/G Midrange were the next most played decks on the second day of competition. Legacy continues to be the Grixis Delver and Lands show, though the revamped build of Miracles shot up in popularity this weekend, putting four players into Day 2.
