Day 2 Metagame Breakdown
All players with 18 points made Day 2, meaning 123 players would return to battle for a shot at the Top 8 of the Legacy Open at #SCGDC. While Grixis Delver still reigns supreme in the Legacy format, Four-Color Control decks with Leovold%2C+Emissary+of+Trest aren’t far behind. The majority of the Four-Color builds splash red to the Sultai base, some have moved to white for cards like Lingering+Souls and other sideboard cards. This weekend, Grixis Delver leads with 16 copies on Day 2 to Four-Color Control’s 15.
Lands, a staple in the East Coast Legacy scene, is next with nine copies making the second day of competition. It’s the highest non-blue deck in the field, but is joined by four other decks opting to ditch blue in the Top 10. Storm and Sultai Delver each had four pilots on Day 2, followed by Sneak and Show at seven copies and Death and Taxes and six.
More non-blue decks round out of the Top 10 decks in Day 2, including Elves at five copies and Colorless Eldrazi and Punishing Abzan at four players each. Legacy powerhouses of old, Esper Deathblade and Temur Delver clock in with three copies each, along with Infect, B/R Reanimator, and Burn. At two copies each: Belcher, Maverick, Turbo Depths, U/W Control, and Jeskai Control. One-of strategies making Day 2 include: Grixis Tezzeret, Metalworker, Goblins, Smallpox, and U/B Standstill.
