All players with 21 points made Day 2, meaning 79 players would return to battle for a shot at the Top 8 of the Modern Open at #SCGINDY. After the dominance of Death’s Shadow at Grand Prix Vancouver last weekend, the deck took over the top spot in Indianapolis with 15 of the 79 Day 2 players sleeving up the powerful Jund deck.
After the top deck, Modern’s usual suspects show up to fill out the rest of the decks with multiple copies on the second day of competition. Bant Eldrazi had six pilots reach Day 2, followed by Merfolk at five copies, and Burn, Abzan, and Abzan Company at four copies each. At three pilots each, Jund, G/W Hexproof, Scapeshift, and G/B Tron filled out the middle.
Dredge joined Ad+Nauseam, Eldrazi Tron, Infect, Affinity, Jeskai Control, and G/R Ponza at two copies on Day 2. From there, interesting one-ofs to reach the second day of competition include: Puresteel+Paladin, U/R Gifts Storm, 8-Rack, and Revolt Zoo.
