Day 2 Metagame Breakdown
All players with 18 points made Day 2, meaning 145 players would return to battle for a shot at the Top 8 of the Modern Open at #SCGCIN. Two decks were in full force this weekend as Affinity and Jund combined to be the most played decks with 21 and 17 copies, respectively. After the two pillars of the format, Merfolk and Burn made up the only other decks to push double-figure representation on the second day of play.
Grixis Twin, the most popular form of Twin at the moment, showed up next with nine copies while big mana decks like Amulet Bloom and G/R Tron had seven pilots on Day 2. Abzan midrange builds of varying shapes and sizes clocked in with six players and Collected Company-driven Abzan and Naya decks were next with five copies each.
